I was wondering if it's possible to use an upgrade version of Windows XP with Parallels ? I mean a clean install of Windows XP (you start from scratch, and you just have to insert a CD of Windows 98 during the installation to prove you own a previous version of Windows), not upgrading an older installed version of Windows.

Has anybody already tried such an installation ? Because I own an upgrade version of Windows XP, and if I can use it with Paralells without having to buy a complete version, that would be nice.

Yes it is possible. You just have to disconnect your drive from the virtual machine when the XP install program asks to see the qualifying full version cd, put the qualifying version cd in, and then reconnect in the VM and once Mr. Gates is satisfied that you qualify for the upgrade you can switch back to the install cd (doing the disconnect and reconnect again).
