I read some comparison articles and all articles where unanimously praising Parallels for gaming performance. I've being VMWare Fusion user for years but I decided to give it a try. I have a new clean Windows 7 installs in both VMs. The only thing I installed was "tools" - and then I run the benchmark. VMWare Windows gets 4.1 performance, Parallels - only 2.9. All grades are lower for parallels even though the VM seems to start substantially faster. I understand that it is likely I did something wrong with my VM settings. Are there any clues on what I should try? I.e. should I try changing video memory size? Attached are VMWare and Parallels scores.
