I have a MacPro with a quad processor. When I go to Configure, the default selects 1 CPU. This works fine. When I try 4 CPUs, Windows 7 (64 bit) balks and won't start. Resetting to 1 CPU works fine.
What gives? Should I be able to use 4?

I think so. Try it again, then send a report to Parallels using the Report a Problem menu option in the help menu as soon as the problem occurs. You could also try 2 or 3 CPU's.

What do you see when Windows 7 won't start?
