I got the update and installed it and then my problems began. Not seeing the printer, issues with permission to use network resources and Windows programs not running. My question is: Can I un-install Parallels and reinstall without damaging my Windows program/files? I just want to eliminate this latest build, but how to do it?

Before downgrading, try to reinstall Parallels Tools in the guest OS.

Uninstalling Parallels doesn't mess inside your virtual machines.

If you're so inclined to eliminate it (thou I think the problem is that you did not upgrade Parallels Tools inside your Virtual Machine. Yes, you have to, with a new version comes new drivers) just uninstall the the app the usual way and don't eliminate your settings or erase your virtual machines. And then you can install the old version, thou you'll probably have the same problems since the current Parallels Tools you have might have been disabled because they were rendered incompatible, so you'll have to reinstall those either way *snicker*.

    Parallels

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'm not sure about how to install tools within the guest opsys? Are you saying somehow to install within Windows? When I hit the "Install" button, I believe it simply installs on the Mac HD and gives no other options. Is this correct or am I missing something?

But I think you are right. My printer driver seems to be misplaced within Windows. And I keep getting shutdown error messages.

Now my Windows desktop won't load, it telling me it "can't load the active desktop".

A real mess, for sure. Every day I love the Mac side more and hate Mr. Gates' fiasco even MORE!!!!

To install Parallels Tools, when the guest host is running go to the Parallels Desktop menu on your Mac and click 'Actions' then 'Install Parallels Tools...' it will load a cd image inside the VM which will launch the installer (if autorun is running).

For more information refer to the Manual.

Don't consider this a Bill fiasco, the problem you're having is between Parallels and the user not reading the Parallels Desktop manual, sorry to be blunt like this, and don't feel insulted please.
