I'm using Parallels 5584 to run XPSP2 under 10.5.2 (macFuse 1.3.1 installed), and I have two simple (I hope) questions:

    1. How can I prevent OS X / Parallels (not sure which) to mount the VM volume as well as other volumes (e.g., an external HD mounted by the XP VM)?

    2. How can I disable the individual dock icons for applications running inside the XP VM?

    Hello Am3822,

You can change these settings in your Virtual Machine Configuration Editor.

In Shared Folders section you can disable the option "All Windows disks" to prevent them from mounting on Mac desktop. You can also disable the options "All Mac disks" and "Home folder" and choose in "User-defined folders" the only Mac folder you would like to see on Windows side.

In Shared Applications section you can set "Show in Dock" for "Never" - you will not see the Windows applications icons in Mac Dock since then.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    Thank you very much.

I should've looked at the manual (since I upgraded from version 2.x, I had expected things to be more or less the same).
