When I was getting started I was rather overwhelmed & trying to get all this set up so I could use it.

Microsoft set up bootcamp partition & installed Windows 7 & later Outlook 2007. Then I set up a virtual machine using Bootcamp. Then later when I wanted to open Parallels, by mistake I hit the wrong button which started creating a 2nd virtual machine using bootcamp. I realized it, but there was no cancel button. With so much new stuff to learn--coming back to Mac but still needing Windows & learning all that & iWorks, etc I was overwhelmed so after a bit of fumbling around, I have been exclusively using 1 of the virtual machines (since Microsoft wants Outlook re-activated if I switch) but realized I really shouldn't have 2.

The 2 virtual machines are Windows & My Bootcamp. I'm using My Bootcamp.

This has been going on since mid April last year. Now I'm starting to have crashes on the Mac side as well as problems with Parallels & I'm thinking I should maybe 1st get rid of the extra virtual machine & then address the other issues.

How do I get rid of the extra virtual machine? I also notice that either bootcamp or the virtual machine only shows 1 gb memory. I guess they both contain the same stuff since both used bootcamp.

So am I correct that getting rid of the extra virtual machine would be a good 1st step? & how do I do that?

Then I guess maybe addressing the other issues might be a subsequent step?

With the mac crashes (especially Safari & Pages, applecare had me do an archive & install. then later reset Safari & empty Safari caches & other caches. After I did that & then tried to open Parallels it was messed up as was bootcamp. after shutting down & waiting a half hr or so & booting into bootcamp & then opening ea program it was ok. Then shutdown & booted into mac & then Parallels & it was ok, but safari, & Parallels, & Outlook still are not working right. It has been suggested that running Windows in a virtual machine is messing up the mac side.

    MacBookPro 13.3" 10.6.6, Parallels 5 build 5.0.9344, Rev 558741 Mar 5, 2010, 4 gb total memory
