I have recently installed Parallels 4 on a new MacBook 13" 2.4 ghz with 4gig ram and 250 gig HD. This is the first install for Parallels, not an upgrade.
I had noticed that booting Windows XP from the Parallels desktop was taking approximately 3.5 minutes on each occasion, so, after reading a reply from Parallels support in regards to a similar issue, I removed the prl_32.sys file and rebooted. I then reinstalled Parallels tools. I rebooted the parallels desktop and XP. The boot time remained unchanged but now, each time I boot XP there is a message that says that PTools is not installed and futher attempts at reinstalling seems to bring up the same message.

    1. What should be done about the boot time?
    2. How do I resolve the PTools issue?

    Thank you in advance.

Addendum: Installed the latest build which resulted in significant improvement in boot time but the PTools load lag time persists and there is an approximate 20-30 second interval before coherent mode becomes available.
