I am going to save everyone some time. If you are trying to install Windows XP, make sure you do a SP2 slipstream build. I must have tried a half dozen times to build XP using the original retail CD with no luck. Once I used the SP2 slipstream, all things were good. Once again, dont' try to build without a SP2 slipstream. http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sp2_slipstream.asp
Yes, it is always better to install Windows integrated with the latest service pack. If you buy Windows XP from a computer store then SP2 should have already been integrated.
what I meant was that I could not get Windows XP installed without a slipstream version of XP without XP2. It hung and crashed every time. If you are tryibng to install XP without a SP2 slipstream, forget it. It won't work.
