    Hi Suzy,
Parallels Desktop allows to encrypt the Virtual Machine (.pvm file) on your Mac Hard disk, it is used to protect your data from unauthorized access.
WARNING: We strongly encourage you to make a backup of the Virtual Machine http://kb.parallels.com/8829 before starting encryption process.
To encrypt Windows (it must be shut down) :
    1. Select Windows and click Actions > Configure > Security.
    2. On the Security tab, click Turn On, specify a password, and click OK.
Note : The specified password is very important. You must record it. Without this password, you can't start Windows.
