    Hi,
i am trying to make the printer work from winxp as guest VM on my ubuntu computer. I have my USB printer working in Ubuntu and i read instructions how to add it to the VM. I opened the VM editing options, Added parallel port but there there is option to select between three options where i should select PRINTER. But this option is disabled and I am able to select only Real file option. Also if i check the properties of Parallel port 1 which already exists, i also have no option to change to the PRINTER as this option is disabled. What am I doing not correctly? Why the PRINTER selection is disabled?
Thanks for your suggestions in advance.
    Ivo

Printer option on Parallel port disabled

We have the same issue. Our host OS is windows server 2008 R2 and guest OS is Win XP pro sp3 and we are using parallels 4.0 .6630 for windows. We are using the trial activation key since i wanted to try it before deploying it in production environment. We added the parallel port and it shows options to add printer or real file, usb. but the real file is the only one we can select cos other options are greyed out. We configured Parallels according to the manual. anyone knows why this is happening? We'd highly appreciate if anyone knows any solution to this. Is it just cos we are using the trial activation key and parallel port options are disabled??
