I am happy I can install Win11 on Mac through PD and finally play some games, though it doesn't have DirectX 12 yet. The annoying problem is that it keeps crashing or suspending when I am playing some 3A games and it is excellent with some small games which don't require much performance. Since I bought the 64GB M1Max, so I also bought the pro version of PD because I think it can perform better with additional memory. BUT, it doesn't act as what I expected. I configured my VM for Game Only with 8 core CPUs and 32GB of Memory ( the recommended configuration is 6 core CPUs with 32GB). Then I tried to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake and every time after I start playing for 20-30 mins, it will suspend and I need to restart the machine again! At first, I think it is caused by the lack of memory of the VM, so I increased the memory of the VM to 48GB and 54GB, but it doesn't work! It keeps crashing again and again! At last, I decreased it to 16GB and magically it works! I still don't know what causes it to keep crashing but with 8 core CPUs and 16GB of Memory, I can play FF7 Re at 2k resolution and 30 FPS, though it still will crash sometime, with fewer times and it's tolerable for me.
Does anyone know what causes this suspension or crash of the VM? Though I can play it with 16GB memory of the VM, does it mean it can perform better with 32GB memory if we can solve this problem?
