Para tools : minimum supported version - windows 2000

hi all.

well i'm starting to get pretty annoyed by this parallels buisness.


i've succesfully installed windows 98 se.
it runs great.


but the parallels tools just won't install.
the closest i've got was burning the parallel tools onto a cd and then opening it in my computer.
and the message i got:

PARALLELS TOOLS INSTALLATION ERROR
This version of Windows is not supported. Minimum supported version is windows 2000. l
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------l

and without the tools windows only runs in 16 colour max.
so i cannot even run the 256 colour game which was the whole point.


is there a solution..?

ok ... i fixed that issue.

turned out i was using the prl-tools-win

so i instead manually installed the win 9x video driver.. (from prl-tools-other) and now i have 256 + true colour. and all the resolution sizes.





but now i cant play the damn game.
i click play and the virtual desktop goes black, changes size and then is back to the desktop as if nothing happened.

man this is frustrating.

also whenever i tried to click "install parallel tools"

i'd get a message: "The CD/DVD disc is mounted inside the guest operating system.
if you disconnect this disc now the guest operating system will
not recognize its absence,which may lead to system errors.
it is recommended to eject this disc by means of the guest operating
system.


whatever that means.

 

Do not disconnect it, there could be corrupted files if you do it.
