My mac is the latest Mac Air running latest build of Parallels 8. I've upgraded from XP via the microsoft online upgrade option. Not a single error occured during the install. Unfortunately Win 8 sees no wireless adaptor and no sound. Other than that it's a perfect install Tried again with same results. Absolutely no probs with XP. Help! Simon.
Reinstall Parallels Tools and check the issue: go to Virtual Machine menu -> reinstall Parallels Tools. Hope this helps.
Thanks - but no change Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it does not help. Looks like I'm going to have to use BootCamp and move away from Parallels if I want to use Windows 8. Simon.
it took me multiple times ( i think 3, but it could have been more ) of reinstalling parallels tools to get everything set up in win 8. do not have that problem in win 7.
I was not allowing the tools reinstall to proceed Stupid me - I would choose reinstall Parallels tools. Then a popup message would appear in Windows 8 referring to something about "Drive D". I did not appreciate that this message was Parallels trying to do its Tools Reinstall. Finally the brain cells made the connection! So instead of simply dismissing the Win 8 message, I followed the Drive D prompt through properly, with a positive response which allowed the Parallel tools reinstall to proceed. Phew! Thanks for guiding me to the tools reinstall! Regards, Simon.
