I had a virtual machine running Windows XP Pro that worked well under Beta 2. I then installed Beta 3 and got a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD each time I tried to 'boot' the VM. It goes into a reboot cycle asking if i want to go into safe mode, and then always gets the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED area. So, I waited a bit cause I was busy with other things, but now that Beta 4 is out -- I tried that. I still get the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD on every boot. Safe mode does not work either. This is a great product that worked well for me under Beta 2-- I'd just like to see it functioning again Has anyone had experience with this error? Any possible solutions? I have tried disabling acceleration and lowering and increasing the RAM, etc and that has had no effect. With regards to physical RAM - I have 1.5GB. 512MB original Apple RAM and a 1GB crucial 'stick'. I dont have any issues from within OS X that I've noticed (though I haven't used any highly-memory-consuming applications.. I essentially bought the RAM for parallels). Thanks, -Ryan
More info: I had the memory installed and working fine while parallels was running in Beta 2. The only thing I added between using Beta 2 and Beta 3 was the sound device. I'm not sure whether I booted succesfully in Beta 3 without the sound device, but definitely never booted succesfully with it. I think this may have been the first thing I did (adding the sound device) after I installed beta 3. Since then, I've tried deleting it, deleting and re-adding it, etc.
1. Does it still boots with Beta2? Maybe virtual disk image just become corrupted? 2. Does it boots in safe mode (press F8 immedeately after start for boot menu)? 3. Did you try to switch VT-x on/off?
1 - No, I reinstalled beta 2 and it does not boot any longer in beta 2 2 - Nope, safe mode doesn't work 3 - Yes, I have tried toggling VT-x
