Hi, There are some threads describing the connectivity between OS X and Windows XP as guest. However most of them saying you have to use the wireless lan adapter (en1) for the guest. My problem is I don't have a wireless network availible. My iMac is connected via ethernet to a dsl router and the guest can access the internet via bridged network interface en0. How can I setup host and guest connectivity. I enabled Windows file and printer sharing on OS X but I cant see the shares/ printer in my Windows XP guest. Does anybody have a glue? Cheers Frank
All you really need do is to make sure you're using en1 and de-select the "Wifi" option. I run this way when I'm in the office (the wireless lan is soooo congested) and I see my shares without trouble. Silly question : Did you enable "Windows sharing" in the System Prefs (under sharing) and setup a user password ? Once this has been done, if I directly go to my machine's IP in any File explorer window (under windows) and in the URL bar type "\\10.0.1.3\simon" - my machine IP and username ... I immediately get to login and see all my shares... Do you see anything like that ?
