Environment: Parallels Desktop 4.0.3540, Mac OS 10.5.6 [ BTW: Parallels 4 are AWESOME - great improvement! ] I have a VM ( Windows XP Pro SP3 with all the current updates) set to start in Full Screen mode. An application within this VM is set as a "favorite" (and is placed into the Dock). If I launch the VM, it does start in Full Screen mode, as intended. BUT if I launch the favorite app, it starts the VM in a Window mode, and then the app itself dies (it expects full screen). My understanding that the "favorite" application is supposed to launch its VM in whatever mode the VM is configured to start (in this case Full Screen). Am I missing a setting somewhere, or is this a bug? Many thanks in advance A>
The first ap to show the problem was a game (surprise, surprise!) - Galactic Civilizations 2 [it seems to be much more stable in full-screen mode]. However, any app seems to have the same effect - I have configured Windows Notepad as a Favorite and it still starts the VM in window mode instead of full screen (the VM starts in full screen if launched directly).
Update: I upgraded Parallels to 4.0.3810 The problem is still present. It appears that now when I start an app directly instead of launching the VM first, it starts the VM in Coherence mode. When the VM is launched directly, it starts in Full Screen as configured. John, do you have any insights? Is there a setting I need to change? Or is this just a bug? Thx! A>
