If I open Parallels Desktop, I should be able to just set some preferences and close down (or then choose a vm).

currently it has the somewhat unexpected behaviour that if you launch parallels desktop, it gives you a MODAL open dialogue, which if you cancel it, shuts parallels down (!).

if I want to open a parallels VM I tend to open the pvs file anyway, so I only really open parallels application directly when I want to change prefs (global) or to manipulate some vms (e.g. cloning).

    thanks!

I suppose it will require a serious GUI re-design, as currently Parallels interface is closely tied to the currently opened VM(s). But still I think we'll see some improvements on this with next major code update, at least GUI won't be exactly the same :)

Hmm... I'll be interested to see the changes.
