I'm planning on buying a Mac Pro Desktop very soon and I just want to know if anyone know if you can play online games like BF2, HL2, Counter-Strike Source while using the parallel program, for a example if my friends are playing BF2 on a PC, can I play them online using Parallels on my Mac? I already have a copy of Window's also.

swiftshader... maybe kinda. I don't know.

Well the issue is there's supposed to be big problems with directx and direct 3d. Now I've seen references to a program called "swiftshader, a demo for which is available , but they stop appearing about 3 months ago. I figure this is because

    A. parallels does directX now even though I can't make it work myself.

    B. Swiftshader works fine, all issues were resolved, and people stopped writing about it. There are several claims online that it does work, but , again, I still can't make it work.

    C. It was determined that it actually doesn't work. No one has actually written this that I could find though. You'd think they would though if it happened.

I just tried to run Neverwinter Nights (ver.1) using the demo and got nowhere, but I'm not sure I did it right. The demo documentation consists of about 3 lines of not particularly clear instructions, and I can't tell whether or not you need to buy the program to find out if it actually works with a given program. they have a few demos that seemed to more or less function. I didn't try the Max Payne one though as I don't own the thing.

I guess all I can give you is a provisional maybe.

There are folks out there who seem to definitely know one way or the other but they don't appear to be talking.
