Hi all, I have both a Macbook and an iMac and have setup Win XP home on both of them using Parellels. On the 1.83 Ghz Laptop, with 1.25gb RAM, it all works great. Fast and stable. On the 2.0 Ghz iMac, things start off fast like the Macbook, but soon get bogged down after running a few Windows apps (same apps as on Macbook) This is also given the iMac has more RAM. The ONLY thing different about the iMac setup is that I made the partition 25gb as opposed to default (8gb?) on the Macbook, I forget why I did this, I think it was before I realised the partition expands automatically. Any ideas? Kev
Exactly how much ram do you have on the MacBook? I found Parallels ran really bogged down when I had only 512MB of RAM on it, but when I upgraded to 2GB, it spead up drastically...
Hi Bobby, the one that is slowing down has 1.5GB, and the faster Macbook has only 1.25GB. Both machines have a non apple 1GB stick, and the desktop has the 512 stick from....??? (I forget which Mac the 512 was in and which had the 2 256s). Kev
