I'd like to have a single spot where some code resides on the OSX side that gets compiled under both OSX and WinXP. I setup a Shared folder for my "Dev" tree to try this out. XP sees it just fine and I can copy data to it in XP just fine. I can even edit the files there in Notepad without difficulty. So far, all's perfect.

But, if I try to edit the files in Visual C++ Express 2005, saves throw up an error "The operation could not be completed. Incorrect function" (this is a Visual C++ error). OK, in many ways this is not a Parallels problem, BUT if I go to the same file via networking rather than via the Shared folder, it works just fine. 100% repeatable. So Visual C++ can write to that folder, just not via the Shared (mounted drive) method.

I've not found other programs that give any problems but I've not got much on the XP side to try. Apart from this, Parallels is working flawlessly (I'll be pre-ordering tomorrow from work). I'd like to extend a hearty "congrats!" and "thanks!" for such a great job on the program. This is a job very well done!
