    Hello All,

Running XP SP2 with Parallels 3150 on Mac OS 10.4.8. While using shared networking, internet browsers in XP can't fetch web pages unless OS X's firewall is turned off. I tried allowing ports 80 and 8080, as well as turning off/on Windows firewall, but these don't help. Any ideas (if this is adequate information)?
    Many thanks to all.

The problem is no longer one...I switched to Host-only then shared through OS X.
    Thanks for, uh, reading.

I've had no problem with this using Shared Networking. I can browse using either IE7 or Safari.

Something you might want to look at from a problem solving perspective. Reconfigure your system for shared networking and then use what ever tools you like to see what your Windows name servers are. Perhaps they were never set and you didn't have proper dns support in Windows. Shared networking is safer to use more convenient if you're using a laptop. Some hotspots don't allow a single system to use more than one IP and shared networking gets you around this.
