    After upgrading to Parallels Desktop Version 6 my active applications no longer show up in my dock. I can revert back to Parallels 5 and the icons show up in the dock as is expected. I have tried reinstalling Parallels Tools and the Parallels Desktop but still have the problem. I did find the following the the parallels.log file.

    12-12 20:36:55.151 F SGAC /gui:11017:207/ Error: failed to copy "/Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/WinAppHelper" -> "/Users/Blaze/Applications/{88353e78-7703-4065-9736-ff4d4e076fbf} Applications.localized/Solitaire Game Applet.app.tmp/Contents/MacOS/WinAppHelper"

    12-12 20:36:55.157 F SGAC /gui:11017:207/ Error: failed to save document icon 128x128 "/Users/Blaze/Applications/{88353e78-7703-4065-9736-ff4d4e076fbf} Applications.localized/Solitaire Game Applet.app.tmp/Contents/Resources/my_documents.icns" for helper "/Users/Blaze/Applications/{88353e78-7703-4065-9736-ff4d4e076fbf} Applications.localized/Solitaire Game Applet.app.tmp"

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    No Windows Icons on Dock

    I have the same issue, prior to updating to Build 6.0.11990 (Revision 621014; November 29, 2010), the Icons for Windows apps that were running appeared on the Mac OSX dock, now they do not.

    Problem Solved

    Parallels tech support had me run the following commands to solve the problem. For some reason a directory that Parallels Desktop uses to store the windows icons wasn't created.

    My Mac OS user name is "Blaze" substitute your user name where appropriate.

    Please, perform this command in Mac OS Terminal:

    sudo chown Blaze Blaze

    After that, please, check if Windows applications are shown in the Dock.

    If the suggestions above will not work, please, try these commands (please, press Return after each command):

    sudo mkdir /Users/Blaze/Applications
    sudo chown Blaze /Users/Blaze/Applications
    sudo chgrp staff /Users/Blaze/Applications

    Worked Perfectly!

    Thanks for pursuing this with tech support. This was driving me crazy.
    I had to run all commands to get it to work but now my Parallels Applications folder is full of icons, my dock has icons, and the application switcher works!
