I have searched the knowledge database trying to sort out why i no longer have sound in my VM WinXP Pro SP3. I used to have sound on the VM. I DO have sound on the MAC OSX 10.6.1. I found a suggestion to turn off the firewall. Apparently, it helped a number other people but it has not helped my case.
In my last posting someone suggested un-installing Parallel tools and re-installing. I have done this, but still no sound.

The Intel sound card shows to be working in the device manager. The device driver is signed by Microsoft.
In the Parallel menu 'Virtual Machine' I show that I have the VM properly configured to play sound.
If i try to turn up the volume I receive a message: 'There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, to to tControl Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add Hardware'.
If I try to add hardware I am told everything works fine, but I still don't have sound.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Werner
