So while I was trying to install programs on Parallels desktop 6 I kept getting error 1606 that my home\documents could not be found. After a lot of research I was able to find that if I disconnected all sharing in the devices menu I was able to download the programs. Only problem was, this was an anti-solution. After I downloaded the programs I was unable to connect to my apple files. I turned sharing back on, and even added specific folders to sharing, and NOTHING. I was about to post this as a help post, but while writing this I discovered a solution. I spent about 4 hours trying to fix it and was completely frustrated and FINALLY, I found a fix. I had to select Configure... in addition to turning sharing on, then from the Devices > Sharing menu I had to share folders Home folder, then set my custom folders, then check the box to share mac user folders with windows. Pretty much ridiculous considering the fix for the original problem was just click Disconnect All. I spent a good 7 hours on this, so hopefully this will save someone some time and frustration.
