I installed Parallels and Windows 7, 64 bit on an Intel based iMac a couple of days ago. Also IE9, I believe. Everything worked OK including connecting to the internet by ethernet to my router. I then downloaded Google Chrome. Since it was a long download I went to bed. When I tried to connect to the internet the next morning I got the message through Chrome "Unable to connect to the Internet". However I am still able to connect on the Mac side using any browser I choose.

I then tried to make a new connection on the Windows side and trouble shot by Start>Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Troubleshoot Problems>Internet Connections. Neither helped. When I go to Control Panel>Network and Internet>Connect to the Internet I get "Windows did not detect any networking hardware". Troubleshooting I get "Install a driver for your network adapter. Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter."

Why is this happening and what do I need to do? How's does Parallels interface with the Mac hardware in this circumstance. As I say my Internet connection works fine on the Mac side, I'm using it to post this question.

Try to play with Parallels Desktop Networking modes:
    1. Go to the Virtual Machine option (top Mac menubar) --> Configure --> Hardware --> Network
    2. Try to switch between Shared and Bridged and see if the internet is back in one of these modes

  3. Hi,
after upgrading Win XP to Win 8 on parallels 8 for mac - same problem: windows did not detect any network hardware.
Switching between bridged and shared with no result. Without any network connection it is not possible to do anything. Mac works fine.
    Please help shortly. Thank you.

I am having the same problem. Looking at the adapter device status I can see that the Windows didn't load the driver with and reported error 39.
I just upgrade to Maverick and Parallels 9.

Same crap here - Can someone at Parallels PLEASE give the "simple" explanation of what the setting for the network are supposed to be, in whichever optimal situation (I realize they are "different for every one" but having "bridged" and "shared" and "wireless" options and "mac address generators" ISN'T helping sort it out. Thanks

I have the same problem also and cannot access the network with the error of no adapter found since upgrading from 7 to 9. I wish I can revert it!!!

The soother side effect of the installation of Maverick was that the USB devices
do not work either. The appears on the VM manager but are not installed.
