    Hi there,
Firstly, apologies if this has been covered somewhere else, I have had a search but no joy.
Secondly, I'm new to macs as of yesterday.

    The backplot
So I used Boot Camp to install Windows 8 RTM onto my Retina Macbook Pro (with mountain lion) - everything seems to be working happily, i can re-boot in and out of Windows 8 or OSX by using the command button thingy.

Installed Parallels 7 (licensed), all good.

    The Problem
According to 'The Instructions' I should be able to make Parallels 7 use my Boot Camp partition by clicking on 'new' and then the 'Boot Camp' option.
(note - i'd prefer to do it this way rather than a standard VM so i can share the files between them with little effort etc).

    However!
That is not the case - I have options for creating a VM with media or transferring files from an existing copy of windows (and I assume creating a seperate VM).

But no option for using my Boot Camp - To clarify, not a greyed out option, literally no option.

I've not tinkered with anything particulaly and everything is up to date in terms of software.

Any clues? Is it perhaps that Windows 8 is simply not supported yet or am I missing a step somewhere?

Any help you could offer would be much appreciated, so far my Mac experience has been pretty good but it would be nice to be able to dip in and out with my existing programs etc.

    All the best,

    Ant

Just keeping things tidy - same question was asked in a different part of the forum and more or less answered in the same thread.

Short version being : there's no formal support for Windows 8 as yet - No doubt it'll come along when it's ready.
