    Hello there

I have read dozens of posts about people having problems with audio,
but I didn't find one that solved my problem - I hope to get this solved once for all since it's starting to trouble me.

I have installed windows 7 on my MacBook Pro with my Parallels Desktop 4( I choose "other" as system since it didn't have windows 7 on the list), that I purchased two months ago.
I installed Parallel Tools, and the network, mouse, gfx etc all got to work, except the sound.
Shows the infamous and somehow rather annoying red circle error down the menu bar,

In my Device Manager I see under "Other Devices" I have a "Multimedia Audio Controller" with a yellow label.
I tried the various solutions that I learned form some of other threads - none of those worked!

    1. I downloaded the "latest" Parallels updates

    2. "Use the Windows Update in the Device Manager"
    - Doesn't work, it simply says it couldn't find any driver just as it starts.

    3. "Choose driver manually in Device Manager"
I did browse the browse manually and tried the Realtek.
    No, no luck either

    4. "Download driver from Realtek"
Check - no luck either this time.

    5. "Disable sound in Configuration. Reboot. Start windows and Windows Update will find a driver"
Well, lucky those it worked for then. Cause no luck here.
In parallels I do see a "sound" section when I go to configuration. I have enabled that.

What's the solution? Why is it so hard to get to work?

    Please.
    Regards Dan

Do none of what you tried. Juste let Windows Update happen. It will download and drivers for the virtual audio component. That's as simple as that. Let it happen automatically instead of trying to find and force install a driver by yourself. Windows 7 is much better in this regard than all previous versions of Windows. Hope this helps.

Audio shouldn't be shown under "other devices" but under Audio, video, and game controllers. Do you have that in your device manager?
