I have no sound under WInXP. The devices are all "working properly" and have reloaded the new RC2. I use Yahoo Music Unlimited and keep getting a fatal exception error when it loads. All sound settings appear normal in parallels. Only thing is Audio Device is missing under WIn sound settings and the choices are all greyed out. The sound used to work, but stopped and I can't tell why. How get audio device back which I think will fix my music problem?
If you have upgraded Parallels, you need to install the new version of tools that comes with the package. If not, try uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels tools.
Still no sound Thanks for reply. Still no sound or Audio Device. Any suggestion? Can I reload WInXP over my current Virtual Machine and preserve the programs and settings?
Thanks. Did that as well as enabled and/or start windows services, checked drivers, reloaded full version of Parallels. No sound. It seems the driver is not being associated with the audio devices. How do I fix? Shoud I reload windows or is there an easier choice? Seem like there is a simple association or setting that is turned off of disabled that I can't find.
Your use of the word "devices" is what prompted me to make this post. If you have multiple audio devices you can neither select nor control their settings from WinXP running under Parallels. You must select the correct device and the desired settings for the device before you start Parallels/WinXP. While you can see the audio control panels from within WinXP they have no effect. Any changes made via OS X System preferences require a restart of parallels. Adjustment of the level (volume) sliders, in OS X System Preferences, is the only exception to this rule. Mike
