I'm trying to setup NFS sharing with guest Linux, in my case it's SuSE 10.2, and Parallels Mac Beta2 3094. I configured two adapters for the VM, a host-only and another bridged. I got NFSManager demo-ware and export a share /z on the host-only from the Mac side. showmount -e shows it well, and I can mount it locally from Mac allright. SuSE, however, waits forever on an NFS mount attempt -- both when in /etc/fstab and doing explicit mount, or via automounter. Interestingly, at some point it did mount /z, but it doesn't repeat. Is it OK to keep both /etc/fstab entry and automounter setup for /z on the Linux side? I've configured the host-only network as internal for SuSEfirewall2, and turned off Mac firewall completely to test this. How can one explicitly configure Mac firewall to allow NFS on the host-only subnet? Are there any settings in Mac NFS which can make it easier for Linux to mount? Fortunately, KDE fish protocol works just fine, so there's some way to transfer files! (Needless to say, I don't want to be reminded of Windoze gratuitously or Samba to mangle my filenames, so don't offer me Samba when I *could* use NFS!
