I just purchased Parallels. I am going to use this with WinXP to run a copy or my office QuickBooks. Would you suggest I use build 1970 or 3036. I am waiting for my windows copy to arrive, and have 3036 installed. I am a little concerned about all the beta issues raised here.If I go the 3036 route and then have go back to 1970 will I use up an activation of WinXP? Thanks.
I would start with 1970. Because, of what i read you can't go back once a guest setup is touched by 3036. Moving up is easy. Remember 3036 is beta and build 1970 is a very stable release. another you can do is start with 1970 and install your XP. then backup the .pvs and .hdd file. upgrade to 3036. if it doesnt work out. you can go back to 1970 and bring back your backup.
. If we could view statistics of these forums, we would surely see a huge influx of threads at every release of Parallels Desktop. If forum activity were your only guide, then sadly, you would never install a version of Parallels Desktop. But now that you have, and forum activity is not proportional to actual real problems that stop a program from working, do yourself a favour. .
