New PC - AMD or Core 2? (Vista Host, Solaris Guest)

I plan to get a new Vista PC next week but can't make up my mind whether AMD X2 or Intel Core 2.

I don't play games, but I do run a lot of business apps, do web development, and most crucially, run Parallels to support various virtual machines, most notably Solaris (very successfully I might add!)

I'm leaning towards AMD (Solaris mature x64 support), with the hope that 3.0 will go 64 bit; but I have no experience of Parallels on AMD - is this going to support me in this combo?

To date I've run on a centrino laptop but there is not enough screen real estate!
