I run a RedHat GFS test cluster inside of my parallels sessions, and the new Beta appears to break it.

The current stable release allows me to create a virtual hard disk, and then assign it to multiple Virtual Machines. WIth the new Beta, opening the second virtual machine gives me a message that Parallels cannot read the geometry on the virtual disk. It appears that in the Beta, there is a locking mechanism on the disk that occurs whereas other machines are not able to simultaneously access the disks.

Can this be disabled/fixed before this next release goes live?

    Thanks,
    Tom Callahan

Most filesystems are not able to be shared between systems in this way, but it looks like this one can handle it.

I recommend that the old behaviour is hidden under an "advanced" tab or something like that to prevent people running 2 Windows XPs off the same disk.

fatalglitch, as an experienced user you can understand that there is the problem with sharing disks. You can swicth off write access to HDD, but most of the users can't. May be the solution of unused_user_name is a good way to do this.
