I have installed the Solaris RTL8029 driver to my Solaris 10 guest installation with ./network.sh as described in the UserGuide. On reboot I get the message: "WARNING: ni0: niattach: SA_eeprom is funny, assuming byte order mode" Followed by a long pause and a message that DHCP has failed to configure interfaces. Known issue? Any suggestions?
got network working... I re-ran the network.sh script and this time told it I didn't want DHCP.... Entered 192.168.0.20 (out of range of my DHCP server), 192.168.0.255, 255.255.255.0 for 3 addresses and then restarted. Got the same error at start, but the interface was active and worked. I was able to ssh -X from my mac to the virtual Solaris and then run up an xterm using my mac's X11 server. Lots of things didn't work though.... smc didn't work. but at least I got it working basically.
Moin, where may I find the mentioned "User Guide"? I am not really accustomed to Solaris and have no idea how to set up networking there at all. Thanks, Tim
