Folks, I've had various luck with networking. Particularly troubled when attempting to bridge my wireless network. I'll have connectivity to my machine but not the network at large, or I'll recieve an IP addr from DHCP but no other packets, or everything will work except MS Outlook or NetMeeting. In short, my 'luck' has been poor.

This morning I reduced the MTU settings within my win2003server VM. And look at that; all of a sudden everything works.

I'm not sure that this makes sense. Why would the MTU need to be reduced? But regardless it appears to have made a significant difference. Does it make a different for you?

    Good luck,

    Yes, Beta4

And i'm runing window2003server in the VM. I dropped my MTU to 1200 (I didn't experiment to see if other values worked as well).

This sounds exactly like the problems I've been having. I'll have to try the MTU trick. ... but stupid question .. how does one adjust the MTU setting in windows? (XP Pro is what I'm using.)

I used drtcp and changed the settings right there, then restarted and networking is fully working now.

    more details

Perhaps all of my problems are not fixed. :(

On my win2003server client I adjusted the MTU manually by editing the registry.

At work I log into a wireless network using "WPA Enterprise" as the security mechanism. In that environment reducing the MTU appeared to solve all my problems. All day today I enjoyed excellent connectivity.

At home my wireless network is configured with WPA. Everything else remains the same. Obviously my mac switches over correctly. I've restarted the VM and it boots it correctly and obtains an IP address from my local DHCP server. However althouhg I can see my smb shared drives on the mac I can not access any other machines. In most respects then it feels like I'm running wth host only networking.
