Hello, Thanks to the version released specifically for my setup, I was able to get Parallels installed. Now, I am having trouble with network, sound, and USB. So, in order of importance, this thread is about networking. I am trying to do Bridged Ethernet. I installed a Windows XP guest system successfully along with Parallels Tools. However, no internet. In XP, the Local Area Connection cannot get an IP address. Furthermore, as soon as I boot XP, internet ceases to work in Ubuntu. I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 notebook w/ Intel Centrino (ipw2200) wireless adapter. Any thoughts? Thanks
Did you install the patched version? There's a sticky on the front page of this forum that says is specifically for the kernel, which Hardy Heron happens to have. Did you install that version? I just tried running my old version of Parallels and its not working so noticed that sticky when I logged in today. Robert
Ah, I see now the new sticky for 2.6.24 kernels. I am installing that version now and I'll see if my issues are resolved. It does say there might be some instability issues using Bridged Ethernet. Guess I'll just have to give it a whirl ...
