I have a MacBook Pro running 10.6.5 and the latest version of Parallels. I have it set it to bridged network with the built in Ethernet port for ubuntu and I use the Airport for the Mac network. Here is the strange behavior, if I start Parallels and ubuntu without the network cable attached I get the warning that the cable is not plugged in. If I plug in the cable after that warning and do a ifconfig down and up or even completely reboot ubuntu I can not pass traffic via that interface. I have to quit Parallels completely and reload it before ubuntu can pass traffic. Has anyone seen this behavior or know a solution.
