Good afternoon, We are starting to test MAC parallels on SCCM. Everything is ready for deployment, but the issue is that NetBoot only shows wi-fi. We want to boot it via ethernet cable. It's a MacMini. We have attached standart keyboard (windows one) and N is not working only LeftALT gives options, but as said before, Wi-Fi only. How to get it working on ethernet cable? Thanks,
Do you use sccm to pxe boot? If so does that work? (aka have helper ip addresses for the vlans if you use vlans). For us, we just installed the netboot role (we use same server as sccm pxe), open any firewall ports (opened local windows firewall for all ports for this program C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft SCCM\pma_netboot_service.exe ), and go to Software Library/Operating Systems/Operating System Images and Add OS X Boot Image. Distribute that and make sure it distributes to your pxe/netboot dp (if different than sccm main server).
Yes, we are using SCCM. Netboot is added as well. Opened all ports on Firewall. Still no luck. Maybe there's something to do with Mojave not supporting NetBoot?
Mojave will netboot (non T2 chips) just fine. We create our netboot on a latest mojave machine (non t2) and import into pmm and machines netboots just fine (they see it if you hold down alt instead of n it should list the netboot name). Are you on one of the latest versions of pmm?
And, sadly, we have T2 chip installed. Contacted Parallels support, there's a work-around. Using flash boot to initiate TaskSequence selection. Will up-date this post, if we make it work.
Then ya no netboot. You have to first have a machine logged in with administrator account then you boot to internet recovery and have to disable secure boot and enable usb boot. Then you can boot off flash drive and use task sequences. Though it is all unsupported by apple. Apple wants you to use DEP and MDM. Then you just internet recovery and blast a new os on. This is what we do and then I have a upgrade to mojave task sequence that shows up in the portal and a tech will run that and it will install all the software/ad stuff it it needs.
