I am having a terrible time figuring out how to use Parallels due to the poor documentation. For instance, in the help I find the following: "The configuration of an existing virtual machine can be changed in the Virtual Machine Configuration dialog. You can open the Virtual Machine Configuration dialog by doing one of the following: Click the Configure button on the toolbar of the virtual machine main window. Choose Configure from the Virtual Machine menu. In the Parallels Virtual Machines list, right-click the virtual machine and choose Configure." Where do I find "the toolbar of the virtual machine main window"? How do I get to " the Virtual Machine menu"? How do I "right-click the virtual machine"? Or, for that matter, how do I right-click anything?
When you click a Virtual Machine Window, It becomes active and the menu mar at the top changes it options to reflect that. There at the top is a menu options that says "Virtual Machine" and at the bottom is the option for "Configure". Optionally if you right click on the Parallels icon in the Dock, you have an option for "Virtual Machine List" that will show all configured Virtual machines on your computer. When the list appears, you can then right click on the VM you want to change and select "Configure" I hope that helps.
You're probably in fullscreen mode. Hit option-enter to go back to windowed view or shift-control-option to go into Coherence. Then you can access the Virtual Machine menu. And as stated, the Virtual Machines List can be accessed from the Dock or from the Window menu in PD. Steve
None of these replies helped. It turns out that my problem was that I was using the trial version, which seems to be set up to discourage people. It installed itself in "crystal mode" which, I am guessing, most people here have never encountered. Avoid "crystal mode"; it is very nasty. The other problem was that the help in the trial version seems to have no glossary, so there was no way to translate all the peculiar Parallels terminology.
