I am unable to connect my printer (which of course IS connected to the Mac Mini thru a USB cable, and which does work quite nicely) to Windows and am unable to print Quicken documents. I followed the instructions in the help menu, added a USB port to the virtual machine (is that the correct term?), but in "Devices -> USB" it only displays the keyboard, mouse, etc. The printer isn't there (it's set to autoconnect upon opening). I tried installing the printer using the XP add-printer-wizard, I downloaded the correct printer driver from HP and installed it (that worked, but it also couldn't find an "installed printer"), all to no avail. Nothing works, the wizard is "unable to detect any plug and play devices" and manually doesn't work either (I can't find the driver I successfully installed into XP) because "have disk" doesn't find the driver - and on, and on, and on. Please help. Barry
There is at least one thread on this exact subject elsewhere in the forum, with a successful conclusion. Was browsing it a while ago, but I am on a slow connection right now so don't want to try and find it again. Apologies - but do the search thing and you should be OK.
Your printers will work, read more below... Go to the link below and download and install Bonjour into your Windows (inside Parallels inside the Mac). Your printer will be recognized and should work just fine. Not sure why Parallels doesn't just include this in their installation and make life easier for all. http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/bonjourforwindows.html:)
