I've been messing around with it for a few hours now, and all looks great.

I, myself, am preety pleased with this update. The 3D hardware graphics acceleration support is great news, and I love it.

I didn't realize that DirectX 9+ wasn't supported at first, which confused me, but now I know I still don't really mind. At least now I know it's a work in progess, and that the 9.0 support is on it's way sometime soon.

Strange thing is though, I tried running GTA: SA via SA-MP, and the game actually loaded, and I saw everything for a minute. The game rendered, people running around etc. Then... it crashed. But still - if it ran for a minute, is there a way of using this to allow us to run 9.0 games?

If you need any crash reports etc, just PM me, and I'd be happy to help :)

    Satisfied customer as well

There's a lot of negativity on the board, at least what I read through. I, too, am thrilled with the update. I use bootcamp so that I can bring my Mac to work and use it in our PC environment. EVERY office application runs beautifully, and the networking support is equally good. I am currently running the following platform:

    • 2.33 Core Duo with 2 GB 667 MHZ DDR2 SDRAM
    • Windows Vista Ultimate
    • Bootcamp 1.3 Beta

I recently wiped my hard drive to help with some file system issues (unrelated to parallels), and reinstalled Mac OS X 10.4.8 and my Mac software. I then created a Boot Camp disk with the Boot Camp software and installed Vista. Once Parallels 3.0 came out, I installed it and pointed it towards my Boot Camp partition. Voila! It started running perfectly. I had one small snag with needing to reactivate Windows because of a "hardware change" but a quick call to the Microsoft Phone Activation unit solved that problem.

The only remaining minor concern is that movies seem to playback VERY slowly, but I'm sure there's a way to fix that.

In summary, Parallels is a wonderful product for me, and I'm glad that it exists. It was a pain in the ass for the 5 days that I was in boot camp, and had to reboot to get into my Mac stuff. Thanks, Parallels, for creating an elegant solution for my computer needs.

    Vista Boot Camp

After you have activated Vista in Parallels, can you still use Vista with Boodcamp without activation again?
