Only two USBs in the same time

I just downloaded the Build 1922, which has resolved many issues that older versions had, like problems communicating with HASP 2.17 dongle (Aladdin key) and d-card reader.

Now, the only problem seems to be that my Parallels can handel only 2 USBs with one device in each. If I try to add the third external hardware (printer) through the third slot on my MacBook Pro, well, the Parallels warn me immediately that it does not work. I have to disconnect something first.

That means I can use ONLY TWO EXTERNAL TOYS simultaneously.

Not a big deal, but would be very sexy if I could use all three of my USB ports.

Is this another bug? Will it be fixed?

    No, it isn't a bug. It's a misfeature.

Bug: Something the software should do but doesn't.

    Misfeature: Documented bug.

Two emulated USB devices is today's limit.

Some day, maybe, there will be many (at least 16) and direct passthrough, we hope. Maybe we'll see it before we die.

It's been requested many times. They are working on "improving" USB support, and to their credit have been delivering improvements. Unfortunately, direct passthrough is the only solution that will really work for all devices. So far, it isn't there. :(

When the keyboard and mouse are both USB, does that count as (and exhaust) the "two" devices allowed?

The mouse should be using a virtual ps2 interface, leaving you one more device to plug in.

Having said that, I don't know if usb keyboards are setup as virtual ps2 keyboards, so you may still have two available. But at least one anyhow.

I downloaded Build 1922 a couple of weeks ago, and my HASP 2.17 dongle was then recognized by my software. Hurray! However, my computer started to shut itself down mysteriously. This happened about 4 times within the next week, and after the last time, the dongle was no longer recognized by my software.

I don't know if the shutting-down was related to the Parallels update, but I ended up reinstalling Parallels from the CD I originally bought at a retail outlet. I've had that going for a week now, and no mysterious shutting down has occurred. However, now the dongle doesn't work, again.

So, I just tried to reinstall the 1922 upgrade now, and I get an error message that "error occurred while trying to interact with Parallels driver" I ended up re-installing from the CD again, putting me back to square 1 with no dongle.

    Any ideas anybody?

    Thanks!
