Somehow my MS-Office 2007 application got broken and I have to reinstall it. During the installation (it is an update product CD) it asks for a previous version product CD. Unfortunately it doesn't recognise the inserted CD, though the CD starts installing the older version. I tried to configure devices/CD/DVD1/ as Real CD/DVD or as Default CD/DVD in either case it doesn't work. Help somebody! Thank you.
With an upgrade disk, don't you first have to install the original version before installing the updated version? Steve
That's exactly my problem: The used version of MS-office got broken; the update/upgrade version doesn't recognise a valid product and asks for a path to a valid product - which is in this case the elder product CD. Unfortunately the update can not access the CD drive - and here I need help. How can I reinstall the MS-Office, when the installation program doesn't get acces to the CD drive after exchanging the CDs during the installation process? (On "original" Windows PC no problem, there it works fine)
In another post, somebody mentioned deleting and then re-adding the CD/DVD drive in the hardware configuration of the VM to get it to recognize it. Try that. Steve
I just spent another hour deleting and adding the CD/DVD from the VM, disconnecting and connectinng it again, connecting it to the default or to the real drive.... Nothing helped. When I insert the second (older) MS-Office product disk it starts installing itsef - so the VM somehow recognises a CD within the drive. Only the installation disk cant access it any more. Any other suggestions? Help!!
