I change Macs every 5 or so years and that time has arrived. I have several VMs which I can successfully move to my new mac, but I haven't figured out the secret sauce for moving a VM and its clones. I've tried everything from Time Machine to tar.

Can someone point me at the instructions for this?

Hi, you can use this instructions for the VM transferring.

tangential, while the KB that Maria refers you to is technically correct, here are two suggestions, if you have not already done so:
    1. Shutdown the VM (vs. stop or suspend)
    2. When asked if you "Moved or Copied" the VM, answer "Moved."
I "move" VMs around all the time for testing on different macs, and this has never failed me.
