Good day, everyone! I have a Lenovo laptop with preinstalled Windows 10 Pro. Recently I switched to MacBook Pro 15 and installed Parallels desktop, moved my Windows 10 pro from the Lenovo, wasn't asked for a license key. I have no experience with virtual machines but some basic knowledge so I wanted to know whether something would happen to my moved Windows 10 Pro's license in case I sell my Lenovo laptop? Would it be deactivated? Should I deactivate it on the Lenovo to make it work in Parallels in future? How can I change my virtual drive capacity? I had 1TB on the Lenovo and its still the same in a VM (macbook's drive size is 512GB only) Can I move my other stuff from Lenovo after the migration? Thanks in advance.
Hi @Vladimir10 , you can go to your User account settings on your Windows virtual machine and your Laptop to check which one is activated now . If it is still activated in your , please check with Microsoft customer support to reset the activation key so that you can activate it on your virtual machine.
Well, I contacted with Microsoft customer support service and they told me that my Lenovo's OEM Windows can't be moved on any other machine, it is locked to be on my device. So I'm curious what will happen my VM after selling Lenovo because technically I made an illegal copy, correct me if I'm wrong. Keep in mind that both of them are activated and properly functioning. Thank you for assistance.
