Hi, I installed Parallels for the first time yesterday, and at first all was fine. Today I got a message saying that the version of Parallels Tools on my virtual WinXP box was out of date, and suggested I go to VM > Install Parallels Tools. I did so, the installer asked something about deleting the existing version. I allowed, and the installer did its thing. After the tools were (re)installed I noticed 2 problems. (1) the display resolution went super-low, and more importantly (2) whenever I click into the WinXP window, the mouse gets 'stuck' inside that window: I can move it freely in the Win zone, but the only way I've found to get it out to my Mac is to Alt-Tab to a different application. Once I've done that, the cursor can move over and back off of the Win window...until I click into the Win machine. As soon as I've done that, my mouse is stuck again. Any ideas? I can happily post more info about my setup if there's relevant info I've neglected to provide. Thanks, Jeff
I'm not sure if this is your issue or not, but if you have Parallels tools installed in the guest OS you can set an option that will allow the mouse to move freely from the guest OS to the host OS. If you don't have Parallels tools installed or that option turned on you have to press CTRL+ALT to release the mouse from the guest OS. I think you should see a message at the bottom of the guest OS that tells you "to release the mouse press CTRL+ALT". Hope this helps.
