Hello all: well, very interesting day w/ Parallels & Windows(s)... Gave a call to a friend who has had nothing but great success with parallels & asked for a hand. He loaned me his install copies of win2000 (full install cd) & upgd CD to win XP. *THESE* are what he used to do the parallels gig on his machine. Long story short.....XP is working flawlessly. Very nice to see a working VM & 3 or 4 of my apps load with NO TROUBLE at all. For grins, tho, tried loading his win2000. Again, this one is *not* an upgrade cd, but a full install. Still no dice. Load looks like it goes well, but then when I try to install an application, it dumps on me. Tried it with both FAT & NTFS formats, tried it with more ram allocated, tried it with SP4 & parallels tools loaded first.....tried it after a bare install with neither of these loaded. Results always the same......crash as soon as I click "install." Very strange. Would think there's something wrong with my macbook but for the fact that XP runs flawlessly, as does the entire mac OS side. Dunno......but guess if I'm going to be in the parallels world, for now anyway, it's going to be using XP. TM
