Monitor cant handle full screen refresh rate..XP Host

I am running parallels workstation v2.1. When I try to into full screen mode for the guest OS, parallels goes into full screen, however, my monitor displays the message "sync out of range." is there a way I can change the refresh rate of parallels? This happens in all of the guest OSes I have tried (XP, Ubuntu, and Win98).

Do you try to set same resolution in host system ? Is it works?

Parallels load all available videomodes that are written in XFree86.conf file to select mode to switch to. It selects mode with maximum refresh rate, so if you have modes with refresh rate higher that your monitor can support you will have problems whe Parallels try to switch to them. I can advise you to check your X configuration and delete unsupported modelines from it.

  9. Full screen problems...

When try to go on full screen in guest, this request initiate a chaining in host.... I explain my things:
if I try to request ( guest ) to go in full screen the program replay this request to HOST !
    example:
    1 Guest: (800x600) windowed screen is OK ! ( host refresh is: 1280x800 )
2 try to full screen..... problem !
after this problem, result screen in host is ( auto-changed ) 1280x724 in guest ( auto-changed ) is 800x600  , I think request to full screen in the program start ( forcing command ) a confused replay command to host.:(
I hope this can help anybody to solve this issue, but I'm new to any forum and excuse me at all if I wrote incomprehensible, I ( think ) NOT have good knowledge in English language, but all You see in this word is result of autodidactic studies....

Actually maybe we are having slightly different problems. In my case, the GUI is fine in full screen or windowed mode. But when the guest OS (Debian) switches out of GUI (full screen console or startup or shutdown screens) then I get the monitor sync message on the monitor. If I go to WIndowed mode that's fine. Means I can't run text-based Linux in full screen :-(
