    Hi all,

I've got W8 up and running on my 13" Macbook Air with 4GB RAM. I've given the guest OS 2GB of RAM, but I'm wondering what the minimum VRAM is that I should be using - its currently set to 256MB and I'm thinking it might be better to give OS X a bit more memory back.

The resolution of my MBA is 1440x900, and I don't intend to run any games - just development stuff - SQL Server, Visual Studio etc.

    Does anybody have any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Try different settings and find one that is acceptable for your usage?

Thanks, I just wondered if somebody had already tried, and I was a bit worried that fiddling too much might trigger Windows needing to be re-activated.

When I try to reduce the video memory, I get the message "Not enough video memory for 3D acceleration" - 256MB is recommended for 3D acceleration. Do you want to increase the video memory up to 256MB? This was the same whether I selected "DirectX9" or "DirectX10" 3D acceleration.

I then changed 3D accleration to "Disabled" and lowered the Video memory to 32MB - seems OK so far.

    Hope that helps somebody...
