I am planning on buying MacBook Pro 2.53GHz laptop. My old Dell laptop screen just bit the dust and it doesn't makes sense (cost-wise) to get it fixed. I am planning on running Windows XP (and maybe upgrade to Windows 7 later) on the MacBook Pro.

Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac is suppose to be able to migrate files over from PC to Mac. Last I recall, I designated only a share folder on the Dell laptop to be seen over my home network by another Mac (PowerMac G5) that I have. I can still see the share folder on the PowerMac which means the cpu and hard drive are still okay.

I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer.

    1. Will Parallels move the Windows operating system over or do I need to do a new install of the Windows OS on the MacBook Pro?

    2. With the Dell screen gone, will Parallels be able to migrate all my files over to the MacBook Pro or only the share folder?

    3. Will Parallels migrate browser bookmarks and other preference files? What about installed application/utilities?

    Thanks.
