I am trying to run the Microsoft Windows Mobile Emulator in WinXP running in Parralels on a Xandros 3 Linux system. I don't have any PCs running WinXP native, in fact I've only got one running Windows (2000). I am not willing to expose any of my PCs to a native XP install. The emulator requires the Virtual Machine Network driver. I've installed this and it seems to install, although the only evidence is that it's in the list of installed programs - I don't see any service for instance. When I try to install the emulator image, it says that the VMNet driver is not installed !?? Any ideas ? I assume it's something to do with running a virtual network on top of a virtual (bridged) network. Tim
. Parallels provides a virtual Realtek 8029 driver. And that driver only. Maybe that is the hurdle. .
. Maybe your problem is just a bit too far outside the square for Parallels at this stage. They have lots of features that people want included, and I have not seen your issue raised before. So, unfortunately, for you, it may be some time before this can be made to work. Not a solution I know, but hopefully some solice that at least one person is trying to understand. Have a good day. .
That may be true. I was impressed, however, that the BlackBerry emulator worked so well. I have not tried sending an email with it, but I can certainly browse the web at large (small !) with it. Tim
